Microsoft's Xbox app has still not made an appearance on Mac, whilst it's currently available on iOS. Some deem this to be a tactical move by Microsoft to limit the functionalities Mac users are. If you have a late-2020 MacBook Air/13' MacBook Pro with a M1 Apple Silicon processor, you can run any iPhone/iPad app you want. Game streaming works flawlessly on my MacBook Air! Fullscreen is available by the way, does not have to run windowed. Follow these steps.
The game on Xbox is having issues with custom content, we are not allowed to update the main game until those issues are solved. In the meantime we are updating the Beta - please check the steps below on how to join.
How to join the Unit Creator Beta on Xbox

In order to join the beta, you need to download the Xbox Insider Hub app and sign up for a preview of the unit creator. You may follow these steps to do so:
Go to the Store and download the Xbox Insider Hub app
Once installed, open Xbox Insider and choose Previews
Find TABS Beta and press Join
Once the registration is completed you will be directed to the Store, where you can install the beta

When joining the beta, make sure that you are signed in to your Xbox account and that the signed-in account owns the game or has an active Xbox Game Pass subscription. If you are sharing the game with another account on the same or a different console, the account that owns the game may have to download the beta first.
Additional information
All custom content (units, factions, battles, and campaigns) that you create during the beta must be transferred to the main game manually, otherwise, it will be lost.
To transfer your custom content, you need to first upload it to the in-game workshop from the beta version of the game, and then you will be able to download it from the non-beta version once the unit creator has been fully released.
To upload your creations, select Workshop in the main menu, then Share and Upload New. Find and select the item you would like to upload, there you can also choose to make the content private if you do not wish for others to be able to download your creations.

If you upload a faction, all units inside it will be included - you don’t need to upload each unit individually.
How To Download The Xbox App On Mac
Once the game is fully released with the unit creator later this year, you will be able to download your custom content by going to the Workshop > Browse local content > My Creations. If you still want to edit your custom content, you can do so by pressing Download an editable copy to your Custom Content.

Please note that if you uninstall the beta or stop participating in the preview before uploading your creations to the workshop, they will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
